Trade Secret Examples

Examples of well known trade secrets include the formula for Coca-cola and Colonel Sanders recipe for fried chicken.  But a secret doesn't have to be famous to be a trade secret - many valuable trade secrets remain secret because the general public is not aware that the information exists.

More useful than examples of actual trade secrets are examples of steps which can be taken to ensure the confidentiality of your secret information.  Such steps include:

locking doors

using passwords

placing appropriate confidentiality blocks on documents

clean desk policies

employee badge policies

employment agreements

confidentiality or non-disclosure agreements with third parties
